Christina Ricci doesn’t want her son to follow in her footsteps.
The actress, 44, appeared on Today and was asked by Craig Melvin if she thinks her two kids — son Freddie, 10, whom she shares with ex James Heerdegen, and daughter Cleopatra, 3, whom she shares with Mark Hampton — would ever follow her into the acting world.
“Well, my son Freddie likes to come to set. He’s been on the set of Yellowjackets quite a lot,” Ricci shares. “He has his own chair. And he’s been on set quite a lot and every time he’s on set, he asks me if he can be a child actor.”
“And I’m like, ‘Who’s going to take you because I have to work.’ So, no. Because I’m like, ‘Who’s going to go with you?’ I can’t go with you,” she jokes. “But I think he would be a very good actor. He’s very good at tricking me into things, you know, deception.”

This past August, Ricci celebrated her son Freddie’s 10th birthday with an adorable Instagram tribute. The mom of two shared several snaps of her son from throughout the years, including the cutest throwback photos.
“This absolutely gorgeous kid is 10 years old today. I love him more than I ever thought possible. Happy Birthday, Freddie. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️,” the actress captioned the carousel.
In the first photo, a baby Freddie smiled big next to his mom in bed. As the post continued, the birthday boy could be seen sitting in his high chair and bib, rocking a Batman mask in his PJs, enjoying an ice cream cone, rocking a full Superman outfit and smiling next to a Lego set.
The carousel also included some cute selfies of the mother-son duo from over the years.
In April, the proud mom participated in Freddie’s field trip as a chaperone, documenting the “deafening” experience on her Instagram.
Ricci first shared a photo from the school trip, where she could be seen sitting in the back of the school bus and smirking at the camera in big sunglasses.
Another video showed two school buses parked next to each other, with some of the students yelling out the window at the other bus.
“I chaperoned a 4th grade field trip today. I’m permanently deaf in one ear from the bus ride. ♥️,” Ricci hilariously wrote in her caption.
