Liverpool boss Arne Slot and his assistant Sipke Hulshoff have been charged by the Football Association for their behaviour at the end of Wednesday’s Merseyside derby at Everton.
Both clubs have also been charged with “failing to ensure their players and/or technical area occupants did not behave in an improper and/or provocative way”.
Liverpool were furious that James Tarkowski’s injury-time equaliser in the 2-2 draw was allowed to stand, denying the Reds a memorable win in the last fixture to be played between the two at Goodison Park.
At the final whistle, Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure went over to taunt the Liverpool fans, drawing a strong reaction from visiting midfielder Curtis Jones with the pair grappling before players from both sides waded in.

Slot clashed with Michael Oliver
Slot has been charged after his interaction with referee Michael Oliver. The Dutchman appeared to shake Oliver’s hand in an aggressive way before saying something that earned him a red card.
Hulshoff has been charged with the same offence, and also allegedly continuing the argument after he had been dismissed.
The FA statement read: “Everton, Liverpool, Arne Slot and Sipke Hulshoff have been charged following the Premier League fixture between the clubs on Wednesday, 12 February.
“It is alleged that both clubs failed to ensure their players and/or technical area occupants did not behave in an improper and/or provocative way following the final whistle.”

It continued: “The Liverpool manager allegedly acted in an improper manner and/or used insulting and/or abusive words and/or behaviour towards both the match referee and an assistant referee after the match had finished.
“It is alleged that Liverpool’s assistant manager acted in an improper manner and/or used insulting and/or abusive words and/or behaviour towards a match official, which led to his dismissal. It is further alleged that he acted in an improper manner and/or used insulting and/or abusive words and/or behaviour towards a match official after being sent off.
“Everton, Liverpool, Arne Slot and Sipke Hulshoff have until next Wednesday, 19 February, to provide their respective responses.”
The Premier League website yesterday reported Slot had been given a two-match touchline ban before the article was taken down.
And Slot himself admitted earlier today he regretted his actions.
“During stoppage time, there was a lot that happened and the emotions got the better of me,” said Slot.
“I would have loved to do it differently if I could go back. I hope to do it differently the next time, as well.”
