Ringo Starr Joins Sheryl Crow and Mickey Guyton for Ryman Performance (Exclusive)

Sir Ringo Starr turned one of his classics into a stunning collaboration.

In January, the Beatles drummer, 84, performed at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, where he was joined by several friends for a 19-song setlist, representing every genre and generation of his past seven decades.

In a clip PEOPLE can share exclusively, Starr delivers a rollicking rendition of his 1971 classic “It Don’t Come Easy” alongside Sheryl Crow, Molly Tuttle and Mickey Guyton.

During the set, the “Photograph” performer can be seen swaying alongside the “Strong Enough” musician and the “All American” singer. At one point, he even throws up a peace sign to the crowd.

The performance is a part of Ringo & Friends at the Ryman, a two-hour CBS special celebrating the music and legacy of Starr through the lens of country music.

The once-in-a-lifetime event features exclusive performances of his solo hits, Beatles classics and tracks from his recently released country album Look Up, produced and co-written by T Bone Burnett.

“It is always a thrill to play the Ryman and this time we are going country!” said Starr in a press release. “T Bone has put together a great show. It was two nights of peace, love and country music.”

Artists including Crow, Guyton, Rodney Crowell, Jack WhiteThe War and TreatyJamey Johnson, sister duo Larkin PoeBilly Strings and Sarah Jarosz appear alongside him throughout the special.

Starr is also accompanied by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Brenda Lee (whose career predates the Beatles) and contemporary bluegrass virtuoso Tuttle.

Backing them up is a band assembled by Burnett, which includes such A-listers as producer-guitarist Daniel Tashian and steel guitarist Paul Franklin, as well as Jim Keltner, whom Starr called his “favorite drummer.”

Burnett serves as the show’s emcee, and he can also be credited with Starr’s latest deep dive into country, Look Up. The 11-track album, released in January, marks the Beatle’s first since 2019.

Ringo & Friends at the Ryman will air Monday, March 10 at 8 p.m. on CBS and Paramount+.
