Lainey Wilson on If She’ll Wear Bell-Bottoms for Wedding to Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges

Lainey Wilson is planning to go traditional for her wedding to Devlin “Duck” Hodges.

During a Thursday, March 20, episode of The Kelleigh Bannen Show on Apple Music Country, Wilson, 32, revealed whether or not she would wear her signature bell-bottoms for the upcoming nuptials.

“I’m going to wear a dress,” she said. “I hadn’t done the whole dress shopping. We haven’t even picked a date or anything like that. We got some time, but I figured, you know what? I hadn’t worn a dress for him yet, and I guess that would be the day to do it.”

The Grammy winner, who has become known for her trademark flared pants, previously said that she got her first pair of bell-bottoms when she was just a “little girl” and returned to the style after moving to Nashville in 2011.

“A few years in [to her music career], I realized pretty quickly that as a decent female singer-songwriter, that’s not enough. I needed to do something that made me stand out and stand apart,” she shared with PEOPLE in 2024 while talking about her jewelry collaboration with Kendra Scott.

In her summer 2023 PEOPLE StyleWatch cover story, Wilson joked: “I’ll probably be 90 years old and still wearing bell-bottoms — I don’t think anybody’s ever seen my ankles!”

On The Kelleigh Bannen Show, the singer also opened up about the engagement ring that Hodges, 28, designed for her.

“Years ago I was just joking and being like, ‘Oh, check this out,’ and he was like, ‘Oh shoot,'” she recalled. “I think he started saving four years ago when we first started dating… But he went in and he designed it. And so he took a couple of the rings that I showed him years ago and put them all together and he outdid himself.”

Wilson and Hodges dating in 2021 but didn’t go public with their relationship until two years later when the former NFL star accompanied Wilson to the ACM Awards in May 2023, marking their red carpet debut. The couple announced their engagement in February 2025.

“He is a brave man,” the singer said on The Kelleigh Bannen Show. “First of all, anybody who is OK with this lifestyle and being in the business so much and being gone all the time, he was plucked from the sky for me. Don’t tell him I said that… We got to keep him humble.”
