Poco is so excited for the launch of the F7 series that it sent out review units early – the full reveal is set for Thursday next week, but this is already at the office. Wave “hello” to the Poco F7 Pro. Unlike previous F-series models, the Pro is no longer the top dog – that honor goes to the Poco F7 Ultra, which is also in for review.

Both F7 phones use the same overall design – the Pro is the black phone below, the Ultra is the yellow one. This is in contrast with last year when the two F6 models looked quite different from one another.

The Poco F7 Pro is a hair lighter and thinner than the Ultra, though it’s not noticeable unless you have both in your hands.

We can’t get into many details yet, but we can confirm the two chipsets picked to power the F7 phones – the Ultra gets the current Snapdragon 8 Elite, the Pro gets last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

A generation-old Snapdragon was part of Poco F’s recipe for success – it’s a way for phones to offer tons of performance at a reasonable price. We don’t have pricing details yet, that is something that will only be revealed at the big event next week.

Like its sibling, the Poco F7 Pro features a 6.67” AMOLED display with 1440p+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Hiding underneath it is an ultrasonic fingerprint reader – this is an upgrade over the F6 generation, which featured optical readers.

The phone arrives with the Poco flavor of Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, which is based on Android 15. Google’s Gemini integrates with the Poco apps and there is also the home-grown HyperAI on board as well.

That’s all we can share for now – we are working on a detailed review of the Poco F7 Pro (and its Ultra sibling too), so stay tuned for that. First things first, though, Poco has scheduled the full reveal of the F7 family for March 27 (Thursday next week).
