Juventus have dismissed Thiago Motta as their manager and named Igor Tudor as his successor.
The decision follows back-to-back heavy defeats in Serie A, with Juventus suffering a 4-0 loss at home to Atalanta and a 3-0 defeat to Fiorentina.
Those disappointing results have left the club in fifth place, trailing league leaders Inter by 12 points.
Additionally, Juventus endured an unexpected exit from the Champions League in February after falling to PSV Eindhoven in the play-off round.
Their Coppa Italia hopes were also dashed shortly after, as they were eliminated by Empoli in the quarter-finals following a penalty shootout.
A statement from the club on Sunday confirmed the managerial change: “Juventus FC announces that it has relieved Thiago Motta of his position as coach of the men’s first team.
Igor Tudor is the new Head Coach of the Men’s First Team. Welcome, Igor!

“Juventus FC also announces that it has entrusted the leadership of the men’s first team to Igor Tudor, who will direct the first training session tomorrow.”
Motta, who took charge of Juventus in June on a three-year deal, had previously led Bologna to Champions League qualification.
His tenure at Juve included a 21-game unbeaten streak in the league, but with 13 of those matches ending in draws, his side never truly contended for the title.
The recent string of poor results proved to be the breaking point, frustrating both fans and club officials.
During his time at the helm, Motta took a firm stance on squad decisions. Federico Chiesa, for example, was informed that he was not part of the manager’s long-term plans and subsequently made the switch to Liverpool last August.
Tudor, 46, is a former Juventus player and Croatian international who last managed Lazio.
His previous experience with Juventus includes serving as Andrea Pirlo’s assistant coach during the 2020 season. He will take charge of his first match as Juve’s new manager when the team faces Genoa on Saturday.
