Former England boss Glenn Hoddle believes Thomas Tuchel has the tactical nous to push the Three Lions over the line and finally win some silverware.
Tuchel oversaw his first two games in charge over this international break and, while it has not produced a huge uptick in performance levels, England have recorded straightforward wins over Albania and Latvia.

The German promised greater intensity and aggression from his team and Hoddle is confident that will come as England grow towards next summer’s World Cup finals in the United States, Canada and Mexico where they will attempt to claim their first trophy since 1966.
Hoddle impressed with Tuchel so far
Asked to assess the first two games under Tuchel, Hoddle told 5 Live Breakfast: “You can’t get much better than that. Those types of games, we’re expected to win and they’re not going to be remembered when we qualify. There’s all these big expectations and things they were very good at and there’s still things they can work on.”
Like Hoddle, Tuchel is also a former Chelsea manager and was in charge when the West London club won the Champions League in 2021.
He has also coached Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
Tuchel will take us to the next level – Hoddle
Hoddle added: “I do like the manager, I met him a few times when he was at Chelsea, I thought he did a great job there and I think he will take us to slightly the next level that we might just need to win, to get over the line.
“I think he’s got that passion, I think he’s got that ability and experience.
“We’ve got so many talented players, I think he might just drag us over the line.”
Next up for England is a World Cup qualifier against Andorra before a home friendly with Senegal.
