Jutta Leerdam Feels ‘Super Lucky’ to Be Marrying Jake Paul (Exclusive)

Jake Paul and Jutta Leerdam rocked the red carpet as fiancées for the first time.

Days after announcing their engagement, Paul, 28, and Leerdam, 26, walked the carpet at the New York City premiere of Paul American, HBO Max’s new reality series following Paul and his family, on Wednesday, March 26.

The couple looked sleek in all-black ensembles — except for Paul’s white dress shirt — and Leerdam was excited to chat about her fiancée’s proposal, showing off her rock in interviews and photos at the event.

The boxer looked thrilled to walk the carpet with his future wife, giving Leerdam affectionate kisses and showing some PDA on the carpet.

Chatting with PEOPLE on the red carpet, Leerdam said Paul popped the question with “the best ring ever.”

The Dutch speed skater also told PEOPLE that Paul is “the most romantic guy in the world” and she feels “super lucky” to be marrying him. “He is doing it all for me. Like it’s the sweetest thing and I’m super lucky. I don’t think people expect that from him,” said Leerdam.

Paul pulled off an epic proposal for Leerdam, complete with her parents present. “I had a feeling, but I didn’t know my parents were going to be there, so that was the biggest surprise ever,” she told PEOPLE at the premiere.

“I was in shock, but it was the best day of my life, really.”

While the engagement went off without a hitch, Paul admitted that he was “very nervous” to pop the question. “Way more nervous than any of my fights,” he told PEOPLE.

But before the couple begins planning their wedding, Leerdam is focusing on the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan. “I can’t plan before that. I’m not allowed by myself,” she told PEOPLE.

“I first want to work towards the Olympics, get everything out of there, and of course, I’m going for that Olympic gold. And then after, yeah, I can start planning. So the wedding will probably be the summer after.”

The couple went public with their relationship in 2023 when Paul shared a photo of them to his Instagram. “Im Dutch now,” he captioned the post.
