Lineups, team news, confirmed starting teams as PL high-flyers go head to head

Premier League high-flyers Brighton and Nottingham Forest meet at the Amex Stadium with a place in the FA Cup semi-finals up for grabs.

The hosts are currently seventh in the league, while the visitors are in third, four points below second place Arsenal.

The Seagulls, one of four teams left in the competition to have never lifted the trophy, have been in scintillating form of late. In fact, the last time Fabian Hurzeler’s side tasted defeat was at the hands of Forest in a 7-0 drubbing at the start of February.

In that time, the south coast outfit have beaten Chelsea twice – including in the FA Cup – Newcastle and drawn with Manchester City.

Forest, meanwhile, have had some equally impressive results which include a win over City and a draw with Arsenal.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team will be hoping to make it a season to remember, with the prospect of Champions League football next season and a shot at the FA Cup.

Here are how the two teams line-up for what promises to be an intriguing encounter on the south coast.

Brighton team news

For the hosts, Hurzeler makes two changes to the starting eleven named in the 2-2 draw at Manchester City a fortnight ago.

Yasin Ayari replaces Diego Gómez, while Danny Welbeck – who captains the side – comes in for Joao Pedro.

Georginio Rutter, Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh will look to be the creative sparks behind Welbeck in attack.

Nottingham Forest team news

The big news from the Forest camp is that top scorer Chris Wood will miss the trip to the south coast.

The striker, who is Forest’s top scorer this season with 18 goals, picked up an injury while on international duty with New Zealand and will not feature the Amex Stadium.

That gives a rare start for Taiwo Awoniyi, who replaces Wood in one of three changes to the Forest side that won at Ipswich.

Ryan Yates and Danilo also come in for Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi, who both drop to the bench.
