Fulham v Liverpool match preview
With eight games remaining and a 12-point lead over second-placed Arsenal, Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has sounded a pragmatic note about the would-be champions’ remaining performances this season as they prepare to visit Fulham.
“At this stage, rather than playing well, you want to win,” Jota told Liverpool’s official site, having scored the second-half winner in their 1-0 home victory over Everton on Wednesday.
“We’ll do everything we can to do that. I know their manager [Marco Silva] – he’s Portuguese and I follow his work. He obviously sets the team [up] very well and he’s getting results.”
Fulham are three points behind seventh-placed Newcastle and six shy of fifth-placed Manchester City after losing 2-1 at Arsenal on Tuesday.

“The impact of the manager is always important,” said Silva, discussing Arne Slot’s succession of Jurgen Klopp at Anfield last summer.
“It wasn’t just any manager that left them – it was a manager who was there for 10 years with a massive, massive impact on almost everything that was built in the football club.
“Jurgen was a very, very important piece and, when the club goes in a different direction, the impact of the manager is always going to be important. Slot has made that impact.
“It’s not a coincidence that they have spent most of the time on top of the table. We can all agree that, if nothing very special happens, they are going to have a celebration at the end of the season.”

Fulham v Liverpool team news
Fulham full-back Kenny Tete is back in contention after being troubled by a knee injury since the 2-2 draw at Liverpool on December 14.
Harry Wilson has been training individually as the forward closes in on a return. “He will be with us soon and that’s great news in terms of the wide attacking areas of the pitch, where you miss a player of his characteristics,” said Silva.
Defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez are out for Liverpool, while Slot said he will “have to wait and see” on full-back Conor Bradley’s fitness.
Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah are options to come in. Liverpool are following concussion protocols over Alisson following an injury sustained by the goalkeeper while playing for Brazil last month.
