SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A former food-delivery driver pleaded responsible to conspiring with others to steal greater than $2.5 million from DoorDash by getting the corporate to pay for deliveries that by no means occurred, federal prosecutors mentioned.
Sayee Chaitanya Reddy Devagiri pleaded responsible Tuesday in federal courtroom in San Jose to a single rely of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, the U.S. Lawyer’s Workplace mentioned.

Devagiri would then use DoorDash software program to alter the orders from “delivered” standing to “in course of” standing and manually reassign the orders to driver accounts he and others managed, starting the method once more, prosecutors mentioned.
Devagiri is the third defendant to be convicted of his function on this conspiracy. Two co-defendants beforehand pleaded responsible to at least one rely of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, authorities mentioned.
