School soccer participant Chase Stegall, the son of former NFL star Milton Stegall, has died at 20.
The DePaul College, Chicago males’s soccer group member “handed away unexpectedly” on the morning of Monday, June 2 at his residence corridor on the college’s Lincoln Park campus, a submit on the DePaulia website confirmed.
DePaul President Rob Manuel introduced the tragic information in an e-mail to school, workers and college students, the submit acknowledged.
“Chase was identified for his heat, energy of character, and vibrant presence — qualities that touched the lives of many each on and off the sphere,” Manuel stated, per the DePaulia.
“His loss is deeply felt by his teammates, coaches, classmates, college, workers, and all who knew him. We prolong our heartfelt prayers and deepest sympathies to Chase’s household, associates, and family members,” he added.
The DePaul Blue Demons paid tribute to the athlete in an Instagram submit, writing within the caption, “We’re devastated to share the passing of our brother, Chase Stegall. Our heartfelt condolences are along with his household, associates and everybody who knew him and liked him.”

DePaul vp and director of athletics, DeWayne Peevy, and head coach, Mark Plotkin, stated in a joint assertion, “We’re heartbroken by the surprising lack of Chase Stegall, a cherished member of our neighborhood, devoted teammate and kind-hearted buddy,” per the soccer group’s Instagram submit.
“Our ideas and prayers are with Chase’s household, associates, teammates and all who liked him. Within the coming days, we’ll help Chase’s household and teammates via this devastating time. His loss shall be deeply felt throughout our total Athletics and college household and his reminiscence will ceaselessly be part of DePaul College,” they stated.
Stegall was a sophomore midfielder from Atlanta, Ga., per the DePaulia. He performed in 16 of DePaul’s 17 video games this previous season, the location acknowledged.
