Talking with PEOPLE on the crimson carpet on the 2025 Tony Awards in New York Metropolis on Sunday, June 8, the Broadway veteran warned followers of Depraved — by which she originated the function of Galinda/Glinda reverse Idina Menzel‘s Elphaba — that her upcoming function is “very completely different.”
“Folks assume they’re gonna get Depraved — you are not gonna get Depraved, so do not get upset,” says Chenoweth, 56.
The Stephen Schwartz musical Queen of Versailles, which Chenoweth is co-producing by her manufacturing banner Diva Worldwide Leisure, will mark the actress and singer’s return to the Broadway stage after a decade away.
