A devastating crash has occurred in India.
A passenger aircraft from Air India carrying 242 individuals onboard crashed simply minutes after takeoff on June 12 within the western metropolis of Ahmedabad, according to NBC News, citing the airline and Indian authorities.
The aircraft certain for London’s Gatwick airport carried 230 passengers and 12 crew members, a spokesperson confirmed to NBC Information. Among the many passengers had been 160 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, one Canadian nationwide and 7 Portuguese nationals, Air India shared in a statement on X, confirming the airline was cooperating absolutely with authorities and that “injured are being taken to the closest hospitals.”
The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed in a civilian space, per Reuters, with a senior police officer telling reporters, “The constructing on which it has crashed is a medical doctors’ hostel… we’ve got cleared nearly 70 p.c to 80 p.c of the world and can clear the remaining quickly.”
