Only the Galaxy Z Flip FE might get the Exynos 2500 SoC, new report claims

Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chipset was initially supposed to be used in the Galaxy S25 family, but due to yield issues that didn’t happen. Then we heard it would be put in the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip7, but a new report from Samsung’s home of Korea today muddies the waters.

Apparently there are disagreements inside Samsung’s mobile division about this, and it’s actually likely that the Exynos 2500 will only be used in the cheaper Galaxy Z Flip FE. That one is also now said to be arriving several months after the Flip7 and Fold7, which are presumably launching in July.

So with this timeline, Samsung would have plenty of time to reach good yields with the Exynos 2500. But nothing is set in stone just now. Samsung apparently doesn’t want to mess with the Flip’s winning formula, which has so far always included a Snapdragon chipset, and alienate prospective buyers. That seems to be the logic behind relegating the Exynos 2500 to the cheaper model.

At the same time, Samsung obviously doesn’t want the Exynos 2500 debacle repeated next year with the Exynos 2600, so it’s currently engaged in an “all-out effort” to make that one as perfect as it can be. It will also be developed earlier in the year than the 2500, so it can undoubtedly feature in the Galaxy S26 series.
