Mark Consuelos Wishes ‘Sexy’ Kelly Ripa a Happy 29th Wedding Anniversary

Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa are celebrating 29 years of marital bliss!

The Live with Kelly and Mark duo marked their anniversary on Thursday, May 1. In a tribute on Instagram, Consuelos shared a glimpse at their relationship as it evolved over the years, tracking red carpet appearances, intimate date nights and the chapel where they eloped.

He simply captioned the post, “Happy 29th anniversary sexy.”

Ripa shared a celebratory post of her own, uploading photos of the couple in Italy during the early years of their marriage — perhaps on their honeymoon, which was in Rome and Capri — alongside recent snaps from their Italian vacation.

“Italian Renaissance. Amore eterno ❤️ 🇮🇹 Happy 29th Anniversary, [Mark],” Ripa wrote in the caption.

Ripa and Consuelos, both 54, were costars on All My Children and dated for less than a year before briefly splitting up in April 1996. They quickly reconciled, and one day after getting back together, Consuelos popped the question: “Since we don’t have to work tomorrow, why don’t we fly to Vegas and get married?”

The pair eloped to the Chapel of the Bells in Las Vegas — an affordable choice they appreciate more as the years go on. Ripa shared in 2022 that if they “had to endure a large wedding” with complicated details, she and Consuelos “would not have made it.”

Ripa described the wedding as “a very normal, very regular wedding,” both efficient and fun. The whole thing — airfare included — cost $179, she said.

“We were like, ‘Now, this is gambling! Woohoo!” she recalled on an episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan.

Coincidentally, their characters Hayley and Mateo on All My Children got married roughly four years later in June 2000. The stars briefly reprised their roles in 2010, appearing for a two-episode arc. They shared the screen once more in 2019, when Ripa played Consuelos’s mistress on Riverdale.

Since tying the knot, the pair welcomed three children — Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 22.

Last year, they celebrated their anniversary on air during a taping of Live with Kelly and Mark and reflected on all the years they spent together, which — in Consuelos’s mind — is a really long time.

“I was in bed last night trying to do the math,” Consuelos said. “My benchmark for a long time is going through first grade to being a senior in high school. 12 years is a long time. Like, when you were a kid, that’s a whole lifetime. That’s like doing that twice plus a PhD. Plus 4 years in college and master’s program!”
