Departing Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy netted his 199th goal for the club in his penultimate appearance at the King Power Stadium.
Vardy, who announced he would be leaving the Foxes at the end of the season, opened the scoring after 17-minutes against Southampton before Jordan Ayew doubled the advantage on the stroke of half-time.
The game between the two already-relegated sides ended 2-0 but the match was held up for more than 10 minutes after referee David Webb was forced out of the game with an injury.
The action was halted shortly after Vardy’s goal after Webb, who was taking charge of the first Premier League match of his career, was knocked to the ground in an accidental collision with Ayew.
In typical Vardy fashion, the 38-year-old forward appeared to blow Webb’s whistle while he crouched beside the stricken referee.
Following the lengthy delay, Webb was replaced by fourth official Sam Barrott.

In the other 3pm kick-off, relegated Ipswich fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Everton at the penultimate Premier League fixture at Goodison Park.
Beto and Dwight McNeil had given the Toffees a two-goal cushion after 35-minutes but strikes from Julio Enciso and George Hirst levelled the tie for Kieran McKenna’s Tractor Boys.
The result moves David Moyes’ team above Manchester United into 14th. However, United have a game in hand.
